Microsoft has always been known to come up with some really innovative and cool products. This time it?s time for a brand new ?pop up? mouse which can be folded flat so that it can be easily carried around. It is called the Arc Touch. It features touch scroll strip that will enable you to run your finger down a portion of the mouse while scrolling through the documents and flipping through pages without having to click any button. When you tap the strip it acts like a traditional mouse. The device uses the haptic technology that provides a feeling of physical feedback, so that when you are using it, you get a real life experience of using a conventional mouse.
This mouse from Microsoft is in some ways an indirect dig at Apple that recently came up with a button less multi-touch device called the Magic Trackpad that can be used as a mouse. To add to this Apple had also said that the days of mouse were limited, whereas Microsoft always believed that a mouse is an integral part in interacting with a PC and offers great deal of comfort and precision.
This isn?t the first time that there have been questions asked about the relevance of a mouse when technology has gone so far. But according to Microsoft, the fact that people will always need external mice can never change as nothing else can replace the precision and comfort of a mouse.
The Arc Touch uses dual AAA batteries, which last for about six months. It is scheduled to go on sale in November at approximately ?69.99.
