Although a joystick greatly enhances the experience of gaming, there are chances that it may have some technical problems. The best thing to do in such a situation is to calibrate the joystick of your computer. This can be done very easily by following some simple instructions and these instructions can be repeated whenever you feel that your joystick is not functioning properly.
You can start by making sure that the joystick is connected correctly to your system by checking that the connections are not loose. You then have to go to “Start” and select the “Control Panel” option from there. Once you locate the “Game Controller” icon, you must double click on it and emphasize the joystick that you intend to calibrate.
The Properties box has a “Test” tab at the top of it, you must click on it first to find out whether or not your joystick is working. Once this has been done, you must select the “Calibrate” button after having chosen the “Settings” tab that is on the “Properties” box. At this stage, Windows launches the Device calibration Wizard. You can go on following the directions as shown in the steps of the Wizard and press “Next” when the direction has been completed.
When you click on a button without touching the joystick, the Wizard would ask you to rotate the joystick in different directions so that it can calibrate the different axis of the joystick. When you press any button on the joystick again, your system calibrates the full range and at this point can also locate the centre point as well. You can repeat the steps if you find that the calibration process is not working.
