Novo Minoru is an eye-catching and attractively designed consumer 3D webcam. It is world’s first consumer 3D webcam that uses the technique of combining 2 different images and captures the 3D images more realistically compared to 2D images. Minoru webcam creates two separate images with the help of its two separate lenses. The webcam has a robot like look because of the two microphones located at the ear of the webcam. These microphones help in recording voice using a PC.
Minoru works smoothly and perfectly with PCs which have a 2.4GHz processor and run on windows XP or Vista OS. The stand of the webcam has two legs on the front and one at the back that enables it to stand up and sit down. When rested on the top of laptop screen, it resembles a robot with little red arms. The lenses have a fair gap between them that makes it very simple to talk to and unlike other webcams we do not have to stare at the lenses. To get it working we have to initially connect the Minoru to a USB 2.0 port and then install the software that comes with it.
For things to work out best, it is advisable that the distance between the user and the camera is 1 meter. This enables to keep the objects in front of the users and the stereoscopic effect to take place. Initially, we have to bring the images into alignment but later on we can easily get accustomed and define the 3D images. The best part is that you can bring it back to 2D whenever you want to!
